Meet Tamara.

Welcome! I specialize in treating OCD, BFRB's, & anxiety. The fears that take you down rabbit-holes of rumination, obsessive thoughts that feel all-consuming, rituals, compulsions, urges, & hours of "spiraling". The thoughts that you know are "illogical" but feel so real. You've tried to "just stop thinking about it" but you can't stop the thoughts from coming back. I want you to know that you're not alone, it's not your fault, & there is hope. You were never meant to live a life controlled by worry, panic, or fear. I know that your unwanted thoughts do not represent who you are, so I strive to convey acceptance & nonjudgement.

I specialize in using Exposure & Response Prevention for OCD, which is a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that is highly effective. I also work with BFRB's, such as hair-pulling and skin-picking by using Habit Reversal Training (HRT). I also provide consultation to therapists who wish to gain education about OCD and ERP.

You've made the first step...yay you! It may have taken you many years or you may have seen many other therapists before arriving here. You will receive a warm, understanding, & empathetic approach in our work together. I encourage you to call me for a consult so we can see whether we are the best fit for each other!

Meet Tara.

My approach to therapy is humanistic and relational; to understand your perspective and how you experience the world, and to build a safe space in our therapeutic relationship. I am a good fit for those who want to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while acknowledging and exploring their own identities. I primarily work with women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are struggling with life transitions, depression, and anxiety.  I am open to all people from different and various backgrounds.

My objective is to assist and collaborate with you in identifying and resolving challenges, establishing clear goals, acquiring relevant skills, and crafting a strategic plan for positive change. Together, we can work towards achieving the life and the success that is rightfully yours.

In addition, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral therapy.  I completed my master degree in psychology at Seattle University. I am a second year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at Seattle Pacific University, and I strive to help those who are suffering.
