Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees?

My fees are $180 per session. Each session is 50 minutes in length.

How long will I be in counseling?

This really depends on a number of factors, such as the issues you want to work on, the goals you want to achieve, and the amount of work you're willing to put into therapy. Some people come in for short-term therapy, which might be around 12 sessions, and others are in therapy for more than a year. One options isn't better than the other - it really  depends on so many different things! If you'd like to get a better idea of this, let's talk about your unique situation. And remember, you're in charge, so you can stop counseling at any time.

Do you take insurance?

At this time I am paneled with a couple of insurance companies, so please contact your insurance to see if I am in network. If paying out of pocket, the fee will be paid for in full at the time of each session. To use out of network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill, which is a document you can submit to your insurance company. This may allow you to be reimbursed for some/all of the counseling cost, but it is very important that you call your insurance company beforehand to determine whether they will provide any coverage.

Here are the questions you might wish to ask your insurance company about out of network coverage:

  1. Do I have mental health coverage, and if so, do I have to meet a deductible before benefits kick in?

  2. Is Tamara Harrison in network with my plan?

  3. What are my benefits for out-of-network providers?

  4. If I submit a superbill, how much of the cost will be reimbursed to me?
